About

Bob Simpson

Bob Simpsonis a production Ninja, on-air guy (always voice tracked and sanitized for your protection), and station troll for Cumulus Media Partners. Bob graces WFMS, WJJK, and WRWM in Indianapolis, Indiana with his timeless voice (which means he can’t read any script in under 60 seconds). He also taunts brother Jon at Audio Aviators. Bob’s radio days began in East Liverpool, Ohio as a DJ for WOHI (the Big 1490). Later, Bob moved on to become a popular morning show guy from Hartford to Phoenix and points in between. Bob was nominated thrice for Billboard Magazine’s “Medium Market Personality of the Year,” losing each time to Gary Burbank (aka — the HACK)!   He’s won numerous awards for his commercial production and in addition to his current position as commercial production director for Cumulus Indianapolis, he also voices commercials and narration for clients all over the country and Europe.  While morning man in Columbus, Ohio, Bob spent a ton of time doing stunts to raise money and awareness for Nationwide Children’s Hospital (his knees still scream from the 95 hours of bowling but it was well worth it).

Jon Simpson

Jon Simpsonis a partner at Purple Chirp Group, a media and consulting firm in Dallas, Texas and Captain of Audio Aviators, also in Big D. His radio roots go back to his first job at the same 1,000 watt station that launched Bob’s career. From those humble beginnings on the muddy banks of the Ohio River, Jon has produced and directed hundreds of television broadcasts, radio specials and segments. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy award, designed and supervised construction of broadcast facilities, and has detailed experience with media strategy and airtime buying. He holds a Masters Degree in Communications from Regent University and managed to let his American Marketing Association, American Advertising Federation and the Texas Association of Broadcasters memberships expire (and because he’s the little brother, Bob insisted that this bio be much shorter than his).
